Wedding Advice – Photography Beyond Your Wedding

Wedding Advice – Photography Beyond your Wedding

This weeks Cincinnati Wedding Advice is all about your photography…beyond your wedding day! More and more, couples are thinking of photography just beyond their wedding day, and with good reason. There are many wonderful opportunities for real and true candid photography of you with your family and friends, both before and after your wedding day. There are lots of  opportunities to expand your wedding photography coverage and here are just a few:

Rehearsal Dinner

Prior to the wedding day at your rehearsal dinner, it is an exciting but laid back and relaxed environment. The inevitable wedding day nerves haven’t set in yet and you’re seeing many of your guests for the first time. It’s a time for you to say thanks to them for being a part of your special day. It has also become a time (as you will see below) for speeches to take place, in place of speeches on your wedding day. This of course frees up the time that would normally be taken by the speeches on your wedding day. Sometimes there is a rehearsal dinner for the bridal party, family and friends which is immediately followed by a bar night for all of your guests. This seems to be especially popular when you have many guests traveling from out of town for your wedding. Many hugs kisses and tears are sure to be flowing which of course…makes for great pictures. All of the pictures you see below are from a recent rehearsal dinner at the gorgeous Taft Museum of Art! (Styled by Alison of Aviva Events).

The Day After Brunch

The day after the wedding breakfast or brunch, which is becoming more popular, is equally a great time for photography. You will of course be fighting the wedding day hangover, but you may have the opportunity to have conversations with close ones who you may have not had the opportunity to do so with on your wedding day. And of course you may be saying good-bye to some of these same guests or family, not knowing when you may see them next, which of course means…you guessed it…lots of hugs, tears and kisses which means LOTS of great pictures.

So the goal of this weeks Cincinnati Wedding Advice is to make you think beyond your wedding day when it comes to your photography. All of the above are wonderful options to capture more of your wedding weekend. Think of all the true and honest moments that happen the day before your wedding as well as the day after and how important it is to have them captured forever.
