44th & Luxe Events – Cincinnati Wedding and Event Planning

I always love sharing some of my favorite Cincinnati wedding vendors with my clients. Anyone who is amazing at what they do and a joy to be around on a wedding day, is someone I want to work with my clients. This week it’s Heidi of 44th & Luxe Events, a Cincinnati Wedding & Event Planning Company! Heidi has been such a joy to work with on both weddings and events! Her Cincinnati wedding and event planning business is newer to the area, so I thought a little Q&A would be a great way for potential clients to get to know her! You can contact Heidi about your wedding or event here, and also be sure to follow her on Instagram!

What made you start 44th & Luxe Events?

When I moved to Cincinnati from Indianapolis, I knew I wanted to hang up the corporate shoes and get back to what I love to do. I missed the creative side to events and the relationships you build with clients. Client relationships are my favorite part and secretly I thrive on seeing the couple breaking it down on the dance floor with friends and family celebrating their big day.

How did you begin in this industry? Have you always worked in planning?

I’ve always working in planning, both in the special event and corporate environment. While in college, I interned with an event planner who was in her first wedding season. I had the opportunity to serve more as an assistant vs. an intern and was incredibly involved in all aspects of the planning process. As a early 20-year old, I was managing vendors, creating timelines, finalizing logistics and that’s where my love for the industry started. After college, I continued to work as a day-of assistant in the wedding industry, but worked full-time in corporate America planning conferences, trade shows, seminars and forums.

How would you describe what you do?

Oh man, planners wear so many different hats. First and foremost, we listen to client’s visions and help to bring those to life. So often, clients have amazing ideas, but just aren’t sure how to pull them off. We love helping make their ideas happen! Planners also serve as a huge resource and book of knowledge for clients. We have a great knowledge of the city, know local places to source items for events and have the knowledge of the local market. We  navigate wedding etiquette and serve as a sounding board! Also, we can help with the design and decor of the event. At the root of what we do, we create timelines (that work!), manage vendors, confirm final details and logistics with vendors, help with set-up and tear-down, serve as a point of contact for the day and most importantly a couple’s go to person on wedding day!

What is your favorite type of event to plan?

Definitely weddings or fundraisers/galas that have a purpose that is near and dear to my heart.

Who is your ideal client?

I love working with clients who are just starting out on the planning journey. Being a part of the entire planning process and seeing everything come to life is extra special to me! Also, if a couple puts an emphasis on having good food, good beer/wine and an eye for design, that’s an added plus!

Where do you see your business going in the future?

Down the road, I plan on growing my team to include another full-time planner, a few more day-of assistants and an intern. Farther down the road, I would love to have a second office in Indianapolis.

What’s your favorite part of what you do?

Honestly, getting to know each and every one of my clients and bringing their vision to life. Every couple and every wedding is different and being able to witness special moments with them throughout the day is just incredible. I still get butterflies watching each bride walk down the aisle, I shed a tear or two when the father sees the bride for the first time and I definitely love seeing the groom’s face when the bride walks down the aisle.
